Use mild soap solution
Although, the leather jacket should be dry cleaned. But if you want to clean it at home, then you can use a mild soap, detergent, or leather stain remover. You can also dilute your detergent or soap by mixing it with water. Because if you use hard soap solution, it can damage your jacket. The skin of the jacket is very delicate and it cannot be cleaned like a normal jacket. Therefore, you should clean the leather jacket with a mild soap solution. But keep in mind that your cloth must not be too wet.
Sometimes, our jackets might even get stained, so some of us may chose using hard soaps. By doing this, the stain may disappear, but in the long run, the colour of the jacket starts to fade and its leather starts to deteriorate. Therefore, to remove the stain from the leather, simply put the leather stain remover on the cloth and then clean the stain. But always keep in mind that you must never make a mistake of washing a leather jacket in the machine.
Don’t clean with brush
If you are cleaning the jacket at home, remember never use a brush for cleaning it. Because the brush can damage your jacket. It may even tear your jacket. Sometimes, when you want to dust your jacket then just rub it lightly with a clean and dry cloth. This is the better option than using a brush.
