Sex has always been a taboo in the society. The ancient times saw a more broad perspective and outlook towards sex. However, in modern times people have become more closed and narrow in their thinking making sex education a need of the hour. It is important to educate the parents first along with children. Sex should not be considered as a taboo subject to discuss. It is imperative to discuss and educate our children, teens and young adults about the basics of sex education.
Open, informative, accurate, flexible, shame-free guidance might be a good jumping off point for almost any new activity you try actually, but I think sex education really demands it. Sex education should cover various topics that should be explained … there no need to feel embarrassed to discuss and inform.
Abstinence is one topic that is covered in sex education. It is one way to not get an STD or impregnated. However, the younger generation is more adventurous than we think and believe in trying everything. The concept of abstinence can only be explained as a means to avoid contracting AIDS or any other sexually transmitted disease.
Contraception is another topic that needs to be covered in sex education. The various methods of contraception and their use should be elaborated. The use of birth control pills, condoms, and other methods should be clearly elucidated upon. Accurate and thorough contraception information is rather important for those folk engaging in activities where a baby might be a byproduct of sex.
Schools should conduct sex education classes for both parents and children alike but separately. Many parents aren’t prepared, equipped or comfortable having in-depth conversations about sex education with their children and so school often plays a key role in filling in some of these gaps.

Sex education for beginners should include interpersonal and communication skills and should help young people explore their own values, goals, and options.
