Anger is an emotion. There is no age limit to get angry. If you are in to fight or something which freezes you, negatively blow your mind. Or you get into a fight. These all happen because of the anger. And dealing with an angry child sometimes gets difficult. So here you’ll get to know about; what to say to an angry child.
- Sometimes to some kids, we cannot say anything when they are angry, because probabilities are, they can get even more anger or, they won’t understand because they will not listen to anything.
- Being angry is one thing, and hurting yourself or, others are two different things. So as parents you should ask your child to be safe because angry is a temporary emotion and because of this, you can’t hurt anybody, not even oneself. And if they are hurting you or, pushing you, stop them by doing this and tell them that they can’t hurt you and if they want to push or kick something do it with a pillow. And this will make them feel guilty and will cool down slowly.
- When your child is angry, don’t try to explain things that they did is right or wrong. Because at the moment, they are not in a state of mind to understand what you are saying. So there is nothing to explain and tell them the reason behind everything. Just make sure that they know you are with them by their side in this hard time.
- Use contingent’s statements to help your child to get calm. Tell them if they will get calm you will take them to the park, ask them to do this so they can get their favorite chocolates and many more. This might help you in calming your child because this is what children do very easily because they know they can anything they desire for and will be calm and will forget about their anger very soon. This is one of the examples for what to say to an angry child and might help many of you to re-connect with your child and maintain a healthy relationship with them.
