“ABLA NAARI” term given to women and to showcase this term the best job was done by Bollywood. They literally made movies that proved a woman cannot take care of herself on her own. Thankfully, this thinking changed and some sensible directors thought that “Dude, she doesn’t need a man to take care of herself and she can do anything she wants”. This shift in movies was a turning point in the thinking of people, kyuki yahan log movies dekh kr zyadda inspire hote hai!. The brighter side of Bollywood is that from a few years they are making movies that are women-centric. Movies that showed that a woman can be a hero as well. So here are 5 movies which showcased the heroic image of the woman.
- English Vinglish
Sridevi in the lead who portrayed a role of a housewife and mother who was not valued much in her home because she could not speak English and then when she visits New YORK she wish to get back the lost love and respect. So she starts taking english lessons. By the end of the movie, family members realize their mistake and apologize to her.
- Nil Batta Sanata
The story of APU who was least interested in studies at the school level but later on clears her UPSC exam. This movie portrayed that Apu was a maid’s daughter so she accepted that her destiny was also the same. To motivate APU her mother joins the school.
4 woman who unapologetically raise their voice against the evils side of society. This movie portrayed sexual abuse and ruthless violence against women.
Kangana Ranaut who played the role of RANi in the movie. The night before marriage Rani’s fiance dumps her. Then she plans to go o her honeymoon alone where she feels the sense of liberation and freedom.

The most controversial movie of the year released. After a huge fight, this movie was finally released. The movie showed an honest interest of the woman without creating any statement or influence on the viewers
So as Bollywood is changing its perception hope people also do the same but at a faster speed and soon the time comes when women are no longer facing any kind of problem in this world.
