The demand of ornaments is always increasing from the ancient era to modern age. When it comes to beauty and fashion, ornaments are very essential. Apart from this, wearing each and every ornament has a reason behind it.
Earring is one of the most important ornaments. It is generally worn by the girls from the childhood age itself. In many communities ear piercing ceremony is taken place after completion of one year. Earring made of gold is much popular as it may not cause much allergy to the person. Ear piercing is done on a particular point on the ear. Right ear of the person has an important nerve passage that connect the brain, cervical and kidney. Wearing ear ring or ear stead helps to protect the kidneys and enhance the brain health. Ring is an important ornament worn in the ring finger, i.e., fourth finger from the thumb. Ring is famous for love and relation. Nose ring or nose stead is common ornament women wear in their nose. According to Ayurveda, the nostril piercing is associated with women’s reproductive organs. A woman who pierces her nostrils will have less pain during the delivery. It also helps to regularise the breath.
Oddiyanam is an ornament that a woman wears on the hip. It helps to control women from getting a fatty pot belly. But this ornament is not widely used by the new generation women and the result is adverse.
