After the age of 40, women’s body goes under a lot of changes. As menstrual cycle changes, low bone density, aging, etc are the problems they start facing. So the question is how can we stay healthy? What should we eat ? What to avoid? So here are some of the things you should add and avoid in your diet.
- Add fiber and whole grain
Fiber helps in preventing weight gain and fiber helps in fighting blood pressure problems or slow metabolism which is usually a common thing a woman might be fighting with. You can have white rice, brown bread, oats and similar sort of grains in the coarse form.
- No salt
Salt increases blood pressure as it makes the body retain water. This has the adverse effect on the heart, kidney, and brain. So reduce or avoid intake of salt.
- Sugar as evil
You are not Willy Vonka so you need to reduce the intake of sugar too. Sugar can cause you diabetes as well as it makes you gain weight. So avoid taking sugar.
- Limited red wine
If you love drinking red wine then you should have it in the limited amount. Increased consumption of red wine would not benefit your body but would definitely have an adverse effect.
- Aerated drinks
A pet bottle of aerated drink has around 150 grams of calories and 40 grams of carbohydrate. This is equal to 8-10 spoons of sugar. If you want to have the soft drinks, have it like a glass or two but not more.
